mains of taymouth kenmore golf club
Kenmore Golf Course, known as ‘Perthshire’s best 9 holes’ was established in 1992 at Mains of Taymouth. A quite superb, testing 9-hole natural highland golf course set in the heart of Highland Perthshire by the banks of the river Tay. The design of the golf course was quite straight forward as the landscape was, almost unbelievably, perfect for a good quality golf course. The quality, mildly undulating layout provides an excellent venue amidst magnificent scenery. Highland golf at its best and most scenically special.
Motorised buggies, trollies and clubs can be hired from the Golf Shop beside the attractive Changing Rooms. First class bar, lounge and restaurant facilities are available at the nearby Courtyard.
We look forward to welcoming guests from Mains of Taymouth Cottages and Holiday Lodges, and are pleased to offer weekly tickets only £45, free winter golf and 10% Discount on all other green fees.
The course at 6052 yards is no pushover. The par 5 fourth is 560 yards and only one of the par 4's is under 400 yards. The second is however one of the nicest holes you could imagine. Teeing up and hitting out of a mound of trees down a snaking fairway which banks encouraging the ball to keep on the fairway and the green is slightly elevated surrounded by banks to help hold the ball on the green.

The course is a fair test of golf in magnificent surroundings. The fairways are generous and the rough kept short to encourage an unhindered round. The clubhouse and changing rooms are converted 19th century farm buildings and are tastefully furnished.
Development is already well under way to extend this delightful highland golf experience to 18 holes, together with a new clubhouse with state of the art facilities. All the more exciting as the nearby Taymouth Castle golf development has come to a standstill.
